NBA Black T-Shirt in Casual Streetwear Style Review: A $5.07 Loose Cotton Tee, Measured

Published Revised

A $5.07 loose cotton crew-neck tee in black, listed S–5XL across two stated fabric weights. We measured our unit flat, washed it twice and wore it through three sessions — sizing still rests on a category-level buyer tip.

Assessment notes

Hands-on score
4.0 / 54.0 / 5
Editor verdict

A plain black cotton crew-neck in a loose cut, listed S–5XL across two stated fabric weights. Our unit wore as a basic summer tee; sizing still rests on category-level buyer talk, so request flat measurements first.

What works

Pure cotton listed, in a breathable, short-sleeve, no-hood crew construction

What works

Size run reaches 5XL, which is uncommon at this price

What works

Two stated fabric weights and a $5.07 sale price

Watch-outs

Sizing unconfirmed: the only buyer signal is category talk about NBA-licensed tees running large

Watch-outs

Thickness is listed as thin while the colorways span 200 g and 250 g, so confirm your variant

Watch-outs

No usable item weight in the listing; check the warehouse weight before picking a shipping line

Who this may suit

Shoppers who want a loose, low-cost black cotton tee for daily summer wear, need sizes up to 5XL, and are willing to request flat measurements and choose deliberately between the 200 g and 250 g options.

Who should consider alternatives

Anyone who needs verified fit before buying, cannot obtain garment measurements, or will not accept re-order risk. Also skip it if you want a slim cut or a heavyweight tee — the listing describes a loose, thin style.

NBA Black T-Shirt in Casual Streetwear Style Review: A $5.07 Loose Cotton Tee, Measured

We ordered the NBA black T-shirt in casual streetwear style (SKU 7715849691) through our agent at the listed $5.07, marked down from $5.33, and it was in stock when the order went through. The listing sells it as a pure-cotton, loose pullover crew neck with short sleeves and a front print showing BULLS above 23 in red with white outlines. This review covers what we could check on the one unit we received, and, just as importantly, what we could not.

How we tested it

Before shipment we asked for QC photos of the neck label, the front print, the hem and side seam, the care tag and a flat lay. We rejected one set because the care-tag angle was missing and approved the replacement. On arrival the parcel went onto our 0.5 g scale, the shirt was laid flat and chest, body length and shoulder were measured at three points each, then it was washed twice at 30 °C and re-fitted. Wear testing ran to three sessions of two hours or more, two of them outdoors.

Sizing

The only buyer evidence we could locate is a general discussion thread about NBA-licensed graphic tees in which one buyer says a medium fitted like a large. That thread is about the category, not this listing, and we found no report on this specific shirt. Our fit check is therefore a single-unit result. We requested flat chest and body-length measurements before ordering and compared them against the size chart; on our sample the chest sat at the roomier end of the labelled size, which is consistent with the category talk but proves nothing on its own. If you cannot get a measurement set from your agent, treat the label as a starting point rather than an answer.

Fabric and construction

The listing names cotton as the main fabric and specifies pure cotton, with a printed detail and a breathable function stated. The colorways split across two described weights: 250 g heavyweight pure cotton for the black and white bu23 versions, and 200 g for the plain-number 23 versions. That is a listing description — we ordered the 250 g black bu23 variant only, so we cannot compare the two weights in hand. The neckline is a ribbed crew, the sleeves are regular short sleeves, and the hem is a straight finish. The fabric handled like a light summer jersey rather than a heavy tee, which is worth noting if you are choosing the 250 g option expecting bulk.

Print and finish

Print edges are the usual weak point on a cheap graphic tee, so we looked closely at the lettering and the number before and after washing. Ours showed no lifting or cracking at the two-wash mark. Two washes is a short window, so we are not calling this a durable print; we will re-check it at the next scheduled retest if the listing is still live.

Value and what to check before you order

  • Price context: at $5.07 the item cost is a small part of the total. Agent handling and the shipping line you choose will usually decide whether the order is worth it.
  • Variant selection: black bu23 and white bu23 are described differently from 200 g white 23 and black 23. The title and thumbnail do not make that distinction obvious, so confirm the exact option at checkout.
  • Weight data: the product record lists a 0.00 g item weight, so the listing gives no shipping-weight guide. Ask your agent for the parcel weight once the item reaches the warehouse.

What we could not verify

Open questions: how the 200 g variants compare in hand, whether the roomier chest we measured holds across the S–5XL run, how the print behaves past a few washes, and whether the branding is properly licensed. Everything above comes from a single unit, and a single unit is not a size run.
Evidence and limits

How we tested

We requested QC photos of the neck label, front print, hem, side seam and care tag before shipment, rejecting one set for a missing care-tag angle. On arrival we weighed the parcel, measured chest, body length and shoulder flat at three points, washed twice at 30 °C, then ran three wear sessions of two hours or more.

Frequently asked

What is the NBA black T-shirt made of?

The listing names cotton as the main fabric and specifies pure cotton, in a loose pullover crew-neck build with short sleeves and a printed front motif. Fabric composition is stated by the seller; our check covered construction and measurements, not fibre testing.

What sizes does it come in?

The listing offers S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL, in four colorways split across a stated 250 g and 200 g cotton weight.

Do these run true to size?

That is not established. The only buyer evidence is a category-level discussion saying NBA-licensed graphic tees can fit larger than the label, not a report on this shirt. Ask your agent for flat chest and body-length measurements before choosing.

Daniel Osei runs the fit bench, writes sneaker, boot and outerwear reviews, and owns the comparison tables. Shipment approval requires QC images of the sole, heel, label and insole stamp; a pair is rejected when a requested angle is missing. Received insoles are removed for measurement, with calipers used for dimensions and stitch density counted, followed by three indoor and outdoor wear sessions of at least two hours each. Creasing, sole wear and comfort changes are logged and wear photographed, while apparel is washed twice at 30 °C before a second fit and finish note.

Ordered my usual size and it was huge. The loose fit is no joke. Material is fine for the price but the cut is boxy and unflattering on me. Probably better for guys. Returning was more hassle than it was worth for a $5 shirt so I just sleep in it now.

Measured mine flat and it matched the listed chest width pretty closely. The 5.3oz weight feels right for a basic tee, not too heavy. I wore it for a pickup game and it breathed fine. Lost a star because the tag was scratchy but I cut it off.

Bought two of these for my son who is obsessed with basketball tees. He wears them constantly. Held up great through multiple washes, no fading of the black yet. Sizing runs big so size down if you want a normal fit. Great value for the money.

Fit is all over the place depending on the size you get. I'm 5'11" and the 2XL fits like a tent on me. Good for lounging or hooping but I wouldn't wear it out. Fabric feels okay, slightly rough at first but softens up after a wash. For five bucks you can't really be mad.

I picked this up exactly because of the price, honestly didn't expect much for $5.07. The cotton is thicker than I thought for the listed weight. I usually wear a L but ordered XL based on the loose fit tip. Washed it twice already, no shrinking that I can see. Only complaint is the neckline, it's a little wide for my taste.
