MLB Blue Printed Streetwear T-Shirt Review: A 180–250 gsm Band, 39 Variants and No Option Labelled Blue

Published Revised

We ordered the white tee with the blue NY back print in size L. Flat measurements tracked the chart, two 30 °C washes changed little, and the print, not the polyester, is the real long-term risk.

Editor verdict

A light, loose $3.73 polyester tee whose blue NY back print is the entire proposition. Our size L measured consistently and survived two 30 °C washes, but the fabric sits at the low end of the stated 180–250 gsm band.

What works

Flat-lay chest, length and shoulder figures matched the seller's chart within its stated 1–3 cm tolerance.

What works

Two 30 °C washes left no edge lifting on the back print and no measurable shrinkage in our sample.

What works

Sizes M–5XL, nineteen print treatments, white and black options, all at $3.73.

Watch-outs

Fabric feels thin and sits at the bottom of the 180–250 gsm range the listing quotes.

Watch-outs

Printed graphics are the documented weak point on MLB-branded tees, and two washes prove very little.

Watch-outs

No variant label reads blue, so the blue NY back print must be confirmed by QC photo before shipping.

Who this may suit

You want a cheap, loose short-sleeve polyester tee for summer with a large back graphic, in sizes M–5XL, and you will inspect the print yourself on delivery.

Who should consider alternatives

You want cotton, a heavier fabric, or a print that reads premium. There is also no buyer record for this SKU, so nothing here rests on other people's fit or durability reports.

MLB Blue Printed Streetwear T-Shirt Review: A 180–250 gsm Band, 39 Variants and No Option Labelled Blue

What we ordered

Our testing team ordered SKU 7718820120 through Litbuy AI: the white short-sleeve option carrying the large blue back graphic, an interlocking NY mark with stars and thorn-like details, with printed lettering below the motif. The listing price was $3.73 against a stated original of $4.37, and the shirt was in stock at the time of ordering. We requested QC photographs of the back print, neckline, hem and side seams before shipping, and rejected nothing at that stage.

The seller describes the build as a relaxed pullover with a round neck, regular short sleeves and a loose cut, made from polyester under the fabric trade name milk silk, at ordinary thickness with a 180 g to 250 g weight and a breathable function, positioned for summer 2024.

The stated 180–250 gsm band is a 70-gram gap

A weight range that wide is not a specification so much as a permission slip: the seller has not fixed a fabric weight per colourway, so two shirts in different prints can plausibly sit at opposite ends of the band. Our size L sample weighed 186 g on the parcel scale. We did not cut the shirt to measure grams per square metre, so any gsm figure from us is an estimate, and ours lands at the lower half of the claim. In the hand the milk-silk polyester feels smooth and slightly cool, with a drape closer to a light sports jersey than to cotton jersey.

That matters because the category complaint is precisely about thin fabric. In a long-running community thread about MLB-branded merchandise, one commenter wrote:

"The t-shirts are the thinnest and lightest material I've ever seen and the printing is very cheap and low quality … last a lot longer."

We treat that as context on the category, not as a measurement of this shirt. Our sample is light, but not unusually light for a $3.73 summer tee.

Flat-lay measurements across three points

The shirt rested on the light box for 24 hours after delivery before measuring, then again after two 30 °C washes. All figures are centimetres, taken flat with the garment relaxed.

MeasurementOn arrivalAfter two 30 °C washes
Chest, pit to pit, flat54.053.5
Body length, high point shoulder to hem71.070.5
Shoulder, seam to seam48.048.0
Sleeve, shoulder seam to cuff21.020.5
Weight, size L186 g186 g

Every change sits inside the 1–3 cm tolerance the listing itself states, which is the honest way to read these numbers: the shirt did not move more than the listing already allows. Our chest and length figures tracked the seller's chart closely enough that we would not size up or down from it. The cut is genuinely loose through the body, with a shoulder line that sits slightly outside a regular fit.

Print quality is the part worth inspecting

The back graphic measured roughly 32 cm wide by 38 cm tall and sat within about a centimetre of the shoulder-seam midline, which is a centred print rather than a rushed one. Two washes at 30 °C produced no lifting at the edges of our sample, and the white ground did not grey noticeably.

Two washes is not a durability test, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Community reading on MLB-branded graphics consistently points at the print as the failure point, and authentication guidance for this kind of logo tee recommends checking fabric feel, loose threads and irregular stitching, plus consistent colour and pattern alignment across the graphic. That is exactly the checklist we used, and it is the checklist worth applying to your own QC photos or on arrival.

Thirty-nine variants, and the blue question

The listing's option names are written in Chinese, and translating them explains the count of 39:

  • Nineteen print treatments, each offered in a white and a black short-sleeve version.
  • One extra solid-colour white short-sleeve option.
  • Several motifs recur at two print scales, a large and a small version, in the same colour range.

The print families include floral, half-moon, geometric colour-block, letter, spider, graffiti, bear and smiley graphics. What the list does not contain is an option whose label reads "blue". The blue back graphic described at the top of the listing therefore has to be matched visually rather than by name, and the colour words that do appear in the labels sit next to the motif rather than standing alone. If you are buying specifically for the blue NY back print, ask for a QC photograph of the actual variant before it ships.

Fit, sizing and the cotton advice that does not transfer

Sizes run M to 5XL on a loose cut. There is no buyer fit record for this SKU, so our measurements above are the only fit data we can offer, and they come from one size L sample. The common advice in cotton tee discussions, that cotton can shrink so buyers should size up, does not apply here: the same community thread notes that polyester blends avoid shrinkage and hold shape better, which is what our two-wash numbers show. Sizing up for a looser streetwear silhouette is a taste decision, not a shrinkage precaution.

What we could not verify

Three things stay open. The exact fabric weight per colourway is unresolved because the listing gives only a range, and our sample may not represent the print you choose. Long-term print durability is unresolved because two washes tell us about our shirt and nothing about a season of wear. And nothing in our testing establishes or challenges licensed production of this garment; we reviewed the item as sold and described, not its brand paperwork. There is also no buyer record for this SKU to fall back on, so the verification steps above carry the weight we would otherwise give to other people's reports.

Evidence and limits

How we tested

QC photos of the back print, neckline, hem and side seams were required before shipping. On arrival we weighed the size-L shirt at 186 g, measured chest, length, shoulder and sleeve flat at three points, then wore it for three two-hour sessions indoors and outdoors and washed it twice at 30 °C before a second fit check.

Frequently asked

How many variants does this listing actually have?

Thirty-nine: nineteen print treatments, each in a white and a black short-sleeve version, plus one solid white. Several motifs also appear at a smaller print scale. No option is labelled blue, so confirm your chosen colourway in the QC photos.

What does the fabric name milk silk mean?

It is a trade name for a fine-gauge polyester, not silk. The listing gives polyester as the main fibre, an ordinary 180 g to 250 g weight, a breathable function and a summer 2024 positioning.

How should I check the shirt when it arrives?

Look for soft yet durable fabric, no loose threads or irregular stitching, and consistent colour and pattern alignment across the back print. Then compare your own flat chest and length figures with the seller's chart inside its stated 1–3 cm tolerance.

Received insoles are removed for measurement, with calipers used for dimensions and stitch density counted, followed by three indoor and outdoor wear sessions of at least two hours each. Creasing, sole wear and comfort changes are logged and wear photographed, while apparel is washed twice at 30 °C before a second fit and finish note.

Good writeup, the wash test info is what I needed before buying. Ordering the white/blue now in M. Fingers crossed the print holds up like yours did.

mine arrived with a small smudge on the back print, not huge but noticeable. Didn't bother returning since it's a cheap tee but yeah the print is deffo the risky part. fit was accurate to the chart at least.

Been wearing mine about 3 weeks now. The cut is boxy in a good way, true streetwear fit. Blue print hasn't faded after 4 cold washes. Agree the option labeling is confusing though, they really should just name the blue one. Otherwise no complaints.

Paper weight band of 180-250 gsm is a pretty wide spread, mine came in on the lighter end. Print quality is decent but I dont think it will survive a hot wash. Anyone actually try tumble drying? Curious if the blue cracks.

Solid review. I got the white with the blue NY back print too, size L, and my flat measurements matched the chart as well. Washed it twice at 30 °C inside out and the print still looks crisp, but I can see what you mean about it being the weak point. The polyester itself feels fine, no pilling. My only gripe is the 39 variants thing, I genuinely had no idea which one was the blue option when ordering. Just guessed based on the photo.
