BKTSQD Multicolor Shorts Review: A $10.15 Quick-Dry Short Where the Drawstring Decides the Fit

Published Revised

We ordered a size L and put the BKTSQD multicolor shorts through two 30 °C washes and three wear sessions. The loose quick-dry polyester holds up, but the drawstring waistband, not the size chart, decides the fit.

BKTSQD Multicolor Shorts Review: A $10.15 Quick-Dry Short Where the Drawstring Decides the Fit

What we ordered, and what we measured first

We ordered the BKTSQD multicolor shorts collection through Litbuy AI at $10.15, against a stated original price of $12.07, and asked for QC images of the waistband label, the drawstring eyelets and the hem stitching before the parcel left the warehouse. We reject a pair when a requested angle is missing, and for this order that meant the waistband label shot and a close crop of the small B logo on the lower leg were both non-negotiable.

The shorts have no insole to pull, so the same discipline went into the garment itself. Our size L sample measured 37 cm across the waistband relaxed, 34 cm drawn in on the drawstring, and 44 cm stretched flat, with a 19 cm inseam and a 30 cm leg opening. The listing allows a 1–3 cm manufacturing tolerance, which is wide enough to swallow a full size at the smaller end of the range — so the chart, not your usual label size, is the number to trust.

The fabric does what a $10 quick-dry short should

The catalog lists a polyester shell with a polyester lining, quick-dry and breathable as the functional properties, and no inner lining or brief at all. That matches what arrived. We dampened the leg panel and left it indoors at roughly 20 °C; it was dry to the touch in about an hour, which is unremarkable for polyester and entirely adequate for a gym bag or a run.

Against the skin the polyester lining reads slightly slick rather than soft, and there is no mesh panel, so on a humid day the short feels warmer than a liner-free shell would. The upside of the single-layer construction is that nothing bunches and nothing needs to be squared up after a wash.

Fit: the drawstring is the fit system

These are cut loose and straight through the leg, mid-rise, with a drawstring closure and a relaxed amount of room through the thigh. The hem clears the knee without flaring, which is what keeps a straight-leg short from looking like a skirt on a smaller frame.

The cut is unisex, which in practice means it is not shaped around hips or a waist-to-hip ratio at all. The drawstring does the work that an elasticated or shaped waistband would normally do, and it is the reason the same size fits two people of noticeably different builds. If you sit between two sizes, size to your widest measurement and let the cord take up the slack.

The prints: 41 reference images, dozens of colour codes

The collection ships in a broad multicolour palette, with aurora, geometric, flame, wave and abstract motifs visible in the image set, plus the small B logo on the lower leg. Variant names are short, often just a code, so the colourway you receive is defined by the image group attached to it rather than by the description.

That matters more here than on a plain short. The silhouette is identical across the range, so the print is the entire design decision, and image groups for a collection this size are not uniform in lighting. Compare the group attached to your chosen code against a neutral reference before ordering, and expect a finished look that is louder than a solid colour short without being a costume.

After two washes at 30 °C

We washed the shorts twice at 30 °C and air-dried them before a second fit note and a re-measure. The waistband relaxed measurement was unchanged, the print over the lower leg showed no cracking or lifting, and the drawstring tips stayed intact. Creasing along the front thigh panel was minor and fell out on the hanger, which is normal behaviour for a polyester short of this weight rather than a selling point.

What the listing leaves you to work out yourself

Two cautions carry over from the catalog unchanged. First, there is no liner, so anyone who wants support built in needs a different short. Second, and more awkward at this price, is the absence of buyer claims: the fit and performance language is entirely the seller's, with nothing independent to corroborate it. The listed season range of spring through winter is likewise a selling line rather than a fabric claim — this is a warm-weather short that happens to be wearable under layers.

At $10.15 the trade-offs are legible. You are buying a loose, quick-drying polyester short in a loud print and doing your own due diligence on size, because nothing in the listing will do it for you.

Evidence and limits

How we tested

QC photos of the waistband label, drawstring and hem were checked before shipping. On arrival we measured the waist relaxed, drawn and stretched, plus inseam and leg opening, against the seller chart. The shorts were worn indoors and outdoors three times for two hours or more, then washed twice at 30 °C and re-measured.

Frequently asked

Do the BKTSQD multicolor shorts have a built-in liner?

No. The catalog states there is no inner lining, and our sample arrived as a single-layer short over its polyester lining. If you want support built in, this is not the pair.

What are the shorts made of?

A polyester shell with a polyester lining, listed as quick-dry and breathable. Our damp-panel test dried in around an hour indoors, which is normal for polyester of this weight.

How accurate is the sizing?

Sizes run S to XXL, unisex adult, mid-rise and loose. The listing allows a 1–3 cm tolerance and our drawn-in waistband measured 34 cm on a size L, so measure yourself against the chart.

Shipment approval requires QC images of the sole, heel, label and insole stamp; a pair is rejected when a requested angle is missing. Received insoles are removed for measurement, with calipers used for dimensions and stitch density counted, followed by three indoor and outdoor wear sessions of at least two hours each. Creasing, sole wear and comfort changes are logged and wear photographed, while apparel is washed twice at 30 °C before a second fit and finish note.
