Ami Paris Heart-Print Zipper Hoodie: Packed Weight, Fabric and Fit

Published

We ordered and tested the Ami Paris heart-print zipper hoodie: 604 g at size M, folded to 28 × 22 × 6 cm, loopback cotton at a listed 350–400 g — plus what one hoodie adds to a 1 kg and a 5 kg parcel.

Assessment notes

Hands-on score
4.2 / 54.2 / 5
Editor verdict

A regular-thickness loopback hoodie that measured 604 g at size M and folded to 28 × 22 × 6 cm. Fabric, hardware and fit held up across three wears; the open question is seller authorization, not the garment.

What works

Loopback cotton at a listed 350–400 g, unbrushed and unlined, genuinely autumn-weight.

What works

Embroidered heart, drawstring hood and split pockets finished cleanly on close inspection.

What works

604 g and 3,696 cm³ folded — billed on mass, not volumetric weight, once bagged.

Watch-outs

No packed weight or dimensions published; the listing's weight field returns 0.00.

Watch-outs

Wide, low armhole; brand buying guides advise sizing down, and exchanges from Europe are slow.

Watch-outs

No independent buyer evidence for this exact listing, so seller authorization needs checking first.

Who this may suit

Buyers budgeting a first Litbuy AI parcel who want a light autumn layer and will measure before picking S–XL.

Who should consider alternatives

Ami Paris Heart-Print Zipper Hoodie: Packed Weight, Fabric and Fit

We ordered the Ami Paris heart-print zipper hoodie through Litbuy AI's Weidian queue — SKU 7705087738, reference price $34.03 USD against a listed $38.81, sizes S–XL, in stock when we checked — and treated it as the worked example for our first landed-cost piece: what one garment actually adds to a parcel before you pay freight.

That framing matters more than usual here, because the catalog does not publish a packed weight. The seller's weight field returns 0.00, so the only number a buyer can budget from is fabric weight: 350–400 g. That figure describes the loopback cloth per square metre, not the finished garment. Everything below is a desk measurement rather than a listing.

Packed weight and folded volume

The garment left the scale at 604 g in size M. In the seller's poly bag it was 638 g; a mailer and tape on our side added around 20 g, so a realistic single-item parcel figure sits near 0.66 kg. Folded as the warehouse would fold it, the hoodie occupies 3,696 cm³.

That volume is the good news. At a 6,000 divisor it converts to 0.62 kg of volumetric weight, and at 8,000 to 0.46 kg — both below the 0.66 kg scale weight, so this garment is billed on mass rather than bulk. Soft goods like this are the cheapest thing you can put in a parcel because they compress.

The volumetric trap in a single-hoodie parcel

Keep the seller's flat carton and the picture reverses. Our reference carton for this order measured 34 × 26 × 10 cm, or 8,840 cm³ — 1.47 kg of volumetric weight at a 6,000 divisor, against 0.66 kg of actual mass. On an economy line that difference can add roughly €8–10 to a one-item parcel for no product benefit. Ask the warehouse to bag the hoodie, or fold it flat into the consolidated box, and request a re-weigh after packing rather than accepting the pre-pack estimate.

Fabric, hardware and what three wears did

The cloth is the part we would buy again. Mid-weight loopback cotton at a listed 350–400 g has a dry hand and enough body to hold the hood up without a stiff interlining; the inside is unbrushed, which is why it reads as an autumn layer rather than a winter one. Seams at the shoulder and side are flat and even, with no puckering along the zip tape.

Hardware is plain but tidy: a full-length metal-toothed zip that ran without snagging through three sessions, a drawstring through proper eyelets rather than punched holes, and split kangaroo pockets that accepted a phone without dragging the hem. Ribbing at the cuffs and hem recovered well after stretching; the cuffs are the tightest part of the garment and the first place a heavier build will notice.

The embroidered heart is a compact, dense stitch with clean edges and no visible cut threads on the reverse of the chest panel. We cannot verify the motif against an authentic reference from photographs alone, and authentication guides single out exactly this detail.

Guides to spotting replica Ami de Coeur pieces push buyers toward three checks: the heart logo's font weight and placement, the neck tag's stitching spacing and alignment, and wash-tag font consistency. Those checks are about the seller's supply, not the garment's feel in the hand.

After three two-hour sessions — two indoors, one outdoors in Rotterdam drizzle — the creasing was ordinary for loopback: soft folds at the inner elbow and across the lower zip, both easing out on the hanger. No pilling at the cuffs, no colour pickup on a white shirt underneath.

Fit: our size M against published brand data

Laid flat, our size M measured 21 in across the chest and 25.2 in from high point shoulder to hem. Published size data for the Ami de Coeur hoodie lists roughly 21 in chest and about 25.5 in back length at M, so the cut matches the brand's regular-fit figures. The armhole is the loose part: it sits low and wide, which is why Chinese buying guides for the brand advise sizing down rather than up. Body length is not shortened for smaller frames, so a size up buys width without much extra length.

What it adds to a 1 kg parcel and a 5 kg parcel

Agent freight is billed on chargeable weight — the higher of scale weight and volumetric weight — and short parcels pay a minimum charge that does not shrink with the item. Our figures below are desk estimates built from published 2026 line ranges and our own cart quotes, not quotes you can spend.

ScenarioChargeable weightEconomy lineExpress lineThis hoodie's share
Hoodie bagged, shipped alone0.66 kg, billed at the 1 kg tier€17–22€45–60Essentially all of it — there is nothing else in the box
Hoodie in the seller's carton1.47 kg volumetric€26–32€60–75Roughly €8–10 of avoidable freight
Consolidated 5 kg parcel, about six garments5.0 kg€48–56€95–120About €6–7 by weight share

The pattern is blunt: at 604 g this hoodie is a poor first item and a good second one. Inside a 1 kg parcel it carries the whole minimum charge; inside a 5 kg consolidation its share falls to roughly €6–7. If a five-kilo parcel is not realistic, pair it with a t-shirt and a cap to fill the first weight tier properly. Confirm the live rate in your own cart before paying, and remember duty and VAT sit on top of freight in most destinations.

Five-point score

What we scoredScore
Fabric and hand-feel4.5 / 5
Hardware and finishing4 / 5
Fit against published brand data4 / 5
Weight and folded volume for shipping4.5 / 5
Landing-cost predictability4 / 5
Overall4.2 / 5

Landing-cost predictability loses half a point because nothing about this listing's shipped cost is published: no packed weight, no dimensions, and a fabric weight that budget-minded buyers routinely misread as garment weight. Sizing costs us the other half-point, since the wide armhole pushes buyers toward an exchange they cannot easily complete from Europe.

What we could not verify

  • Seller authorization. We found no independent buyer evidence for this specific listing. A third-party site trading on the "amiparis-store" name carries a poor TrustScore of 2 out of 5 across 16 reviews, so confirm you are buying from an authorized seller before paying.
  • Authenticity of the motif. Brand-level reports say AMI buyers are generally happy with how the garments fit, feel and look, citing quality materials and neat seams, but those reports cover the brand rather than this listing. Treat the reference price as a purchasing convenience, not a provenance signal — at $34.03 against a $38.81 list, it tells you nothing either way.
  • Authentic comparisons. Our measurements were checked against published brand figures for a comparable Ami de Coeur hoodie, not against a garment we own from a boutique.

Request QC images of the embroidery, zip tape, hem ribbing and inside neck label before the parcel leaves the warehouse, and re-measure the flat chest and back length against a hoodie you already own. This item is part of a retest cycle we repeat every six months while it stays on sale; freight and fee figures are re-checked quarterly.

Evidence and limits

How we tested

QC images of the embroidery, zip tape, hem and neck label were requested before shipping. On arrival the size M hoodie weighed 604 g and folded to 28 × 22 × 6 cm. It was then worn indoors twice and outdoors once, in two-hour sessions, logging creasing, cuff and hem recovery, and zipper behaviour.

Frequently asked

Does an XL weigh much more than the M you measured?

Our size M sample weighed 604 g. Loopback cotton scales with surface area, so budget roughly 60–80 g per size step above M. If your parcel lands near a weight tier boundary, ask the warehouse for a re-weigh after packing.

Is this hoodie warm enough to wear under a jacket in winter?

It is unlined and unbrushed loopback cotton at regular thickness, so it works as an autumn layer or as a mid-layer under a shell. The catalog lists no fleece lining, and the inside face is plain terry.

How do I choose between the numbered colour references?

The listing spreads colours across numbered series rather than naming each one, and thumbnails differ by series. Request QC photos of the exact variant you selected before the parcel ships, since returns from Europe take weeks.

Daniel Osei runs the fit bench, writes sneaker, boot and outerwear reviews, and owns the comparison tables. Shipment approval requires QC images of the sole, heel, label and insole stamp; a pair is rejected when a requested angle is missing. Received insoles are removed for measurement, with calipers used for dimensions and stitch density counted, followed by three indoor and outdoor wear sessions of at least two hours each. Creasing, sole wear and comfort changes are logged and wear photographed, while apparel is washed twice at 30 °C before a second fit and finish note.

Marco V.

604 g for a size M sounds about right for a loopback hoodie, mine felt substantial but not overly heavy. The 350-400 g fabric claim lines up with how dense the cotton feels. Fit is slightly boxy, which is normal for Ami. One thing though, the heart print is smaller than I expected from the listing photos, but that's more of a preference thing than a defect.
